Taurus

May 1, 2009

“It’s May. It’s May. The lusty month of May. The time of year when everyone goes blissfully astray. .. ”

Probably Rogers and Hammerstein weren’t astrologers, but they were right on with their song from Camelot. May is the month of Taurus, the Bull (April 20-May 19), the most beautiful, sensual, and fertile month on Earth. Taurus is the flowering of Springtime and Taurus’ holiday—Beltane or May Day, as we call it—is a day of love-making festivals all around the world, revealing the Bull’s link with fertility. Many Taureans are proud of their love-making skills.

Thank goodness it’s time to start over. The new zodiacal year is underway. It began on March 20, the first day of spring, the first day of Aries, the sign of the Ram. It’s time to awaken from winter’s sleep and heed the call to adventure. It’s time to get going.

Pisces

March 1, 2009

Pisces, the sign of letting go, couldn’t be coming at a better time. Pluto in Capricorn began the meltdown and now Pisces waters continue to wash away everything not founded in truth. (February 18-March 20)

Aquarius

February 4, 2009

Aquarius, your sign is in high profile this year as big Jupiter has moved into your neighborhood. Look for good fortune as Jupiter blesses whatever it touches. This year you are likely to appreciate your friends and community more than ever. More than any other sign, Aquarius knows that all men are brothers and this year your awareness of the oneness principle will increase as mental walls that separate you from others fall. Jupiter also expands everything it touches so look for increase in humanitarian efforts, community and hi-technology—all Aquarian stuff.

Capricorn

January 28, 2009

Top dog Capricorn (Dec 21 – Jan 19) is going to have to rethink his position this year. The opening day of Capricorn is the day of the Winter Solstice, a big enough deal on its own, especially as the Sun is only 3 degrees from Galactic Center and 1 degree Capricorn is crossing the Galactic Equator in December 2012, a time that has come to be called the shift. As if this isn’t enough, Pluto has just entered Capricorn for the first time in 250 years signaling a time of change and transformation of the Capricorn stuff—the big stuff. Pluto’s entry into Capricorn will end a wild time of expansion as Pluto traveled through big and fiery Sagittarius during the last 12 years.

Sagittarius

December 1, 2008

“Take me out to the ballgame. Take me out with the crowd. .. ” The light-hearted fun this old song brings to mind is the buoyancy and joy of Sagittarius, the ninth, the luckiest, and the most fun sign of the zodiac. (November 21 – December 21). Most of the good stuff of life is somehow crowded into this sign of friendliness, tolerance, and optimism. From sports events to foreign travel to finding God, the Sagittarius life moves from surface play to deep discovery.

Libra

October 3, 2008

The harvest is past and nights are lenghthening. Our work is done for now and it’s time to be sociable, time to recognize and acknowledge the others around us.  It is especially that time of year to focus on the special other in our world.  This is Libra, September 22 – October 23, the time of relationship.

Virgo

September 1, 2008

Let’s face it. Nothing is good enough for Virgo. Fussy, fussy. Picky, picky. No one knows like a Virgo how hard it is to carve out a little piece of perfection in this world where everyone does things wrong. No wonder that Virgos fret and worry. And if Virgo is in conflict with other energies, amp up the fretting to obsessing. Amp up the worry to anxiety. Thank goodness Virgos (August 22 – September -22) have wings.

Leo

August 1, 2008

In late July, the fiery Lion begins his rule, warming and brightening our hemisphere. The Sun is his lord and Leo shines accordingly, lighting up the zodiac. The Lion’s days are July 23 – August 22. When you compare the power of the Sun with anything else in our Solar System, you see why Leo is considered by most astrologers to be the most powerful of the signs.

Cancer

July 1, 2008

On the year’s longest day, we enter the emotional waters of Cancer the Crab.  The Crab rules until July 22.  Cancer is the sign of the mother.  In the beginning was the word but also the mother, the cosmic womb from which all life springs.  Astrologer Stephanie Austin reminds us that the word matter comes from the same root as mother.
