June is the month of Gemini, the sign of the Twins. Mostly we love June. It’s the month we associate with the happy beginning days of summer vacation, with brides and ice cream cones and with sailboats. The air is light and the sun is bright.

But there is a darker side to June. It’s also the month of the last and bittersweet days of school. For many it’s a time of graduation and the leaving behind of old friends. And let’s not forget the many tears shed on the wedding day as the new couple leaves behind their days as single people. And sometimes the ice cream is too sweet and sometimes an ill wind blows. Geminis experience the two sides of life more acutely than the rest of us.

The Twins teach us that we live in a dual world where there are two sides to everything. Gemini (May 20 – June 20) is the first sign of mind and as Dana Gebhardt, writing in Mountain Astrologer, teaches us, “It is in the mind where we find Gemini in ourselves.” Both need stimulation and constant change. Both are clever and manipulative. The mind divides every thought and categorizes it as either good or bad. This is the world of duality, where Gemini is king.

“We meet Gemini’s spirit in the natural world through the wind, a trickster—quick, clever, and unpredictable. The wind is also restless, noisy, and infuriating, just like versatile, changeable, scatterbrained Gemini” (Gebahrdt)

.Geminis are interesting, smart, and generally light-hearted as they skate along the surface of life. They are the intelligent communicators, writers, and net workers of the zodiac. They are the reporters, messengers, interpreters, and linguists. The Twins are able to take in many things at once and live in high awareness of their surroundings. Ruled by Mercury, they are quick thinkers and full of curiosity. And they love to talk.

Gemini is the most youthful of the signs. The Gemini man is synonymous with Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up. Responsibility is a dirty word to the Twins, who want to play first in this sandbox and then in that one. They are scared of commitment, often having one foot out the proverbial door.

Humor lives in Gemini as well as cruelty. This makes sense when you think that humor often involves laughing at other people’s weaknesses and mistakes—that slipping on the banana peel thing. The positive Gemini humor is the interesting turn of phrase, the unexpected and original use of words. Those who wear black and white uniforms—nuns and policemen, for instance– are good examples of duality in action. The good cop/ bad cop team has become a stereotype and who hasn’t known a saintly nun and a wicked one.

Besides the worlds of knowledge and communication, Gemini also rules brothers and sisters. People with communication issues or writers’ block might look to open channels with siblings. And Gemini rules short distance journeys. Coming and going: another aspect of the Twins. Geminis love chit-chat, learning, noticing, news, maps, telephones, and cars. Hating boredom, routine is death to a Gemini.

The Body

The Gemini areas of the body are the upper respiratory system, shoulders, arms, and lungs. Too much responsibility makes Gemini’s shoulders ache; not enough breathing room gives Gemini a cough. Being around irritating people gives Gemini a sinus infection. Gemini also has a strong connection with the senses, our first learning tools, especially seeing and hearing, because this information comes through two eyes and two ears. Ear and eye problems are often from an unwillingness to hear or see the truth.

This Month

Many astrologers consider the days of June 6 – 21 to be the best days this century to make a new start and to break free. Powerful and favorable winds are at our backs now, impelling us to begin anew. Many relationships that no longer serve the purpose of soul evolution will end as well as out-moded, superfluous, or dead-end jobs. Old ways must end. Best to go gracefully into the unknown future with anticipation, not fear.

The very best days for that new start are June 13th, 14th, 19th, and 20th. June 6th is not bad. Do not schedule surgeries for the last week this month. And no dangerous undertakings now, please as the celestial traffic light turns yellow, then red at month’s end. Shortly after Solstice—June 24th – 27th– we will find ourselves swimming in rough waters. Be especially careful with your words, contracts, and honor. Things could turn against you quickly if you are trying to get away with something. And travelers beware, as the skywatch in late June could feature bad weather.

The New Moon on June 12th, at a happy symbol of couples dancing at a harvest festival, reminds us of life’s times of plenty and the fun of celebration. Following closely after the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction on June 8th, this lunation could open the hearts and minds of many in big and unexpected ways. New paths could appear out of nowhere. Breakthroughs will bring relief. Expect lots of networking, phone-calls, and chatty friends as well during this light-hearted time.

But clouds will roll in as the Moon fills and eclipses on June 26th in the serious sign of Capricorn. This is one of the heaviest moons of 2010, featuring several conflicting outer planets. The Sabian symbol for the Sun—a car runs into a train—is one of the darkest symbols of the 360. The Moon is at another dark symbol: Indians on a warpath. Violence and destruction could pop up in unexpected places and with unexpected force around the days of the Full Moon as dark outer planets cross this lunation. America’s ruling planet, Jupiter, sits at 5 degrees Cancer, the degree of the Sun and a focal point of the cross. This could be a bad day for us. At the very least, be sure and buckle up.

In the Mountain Astrologer, Stephanie Austin has this to say, quoting Swami Beyonanda: “There’s good news and there’s bad news. The bad news: civilization, as we know it, is about to end. Now, the good news: civilization, as we know it, is about to end.”

Flowers cover the Earth with beauty as the Sun travels through lush and luxuriant Taurus. (April 19 – May 19) The exuberance and rush of the Martian fire of Aries slows as it unites with Earth in Venus’ sign of Taurus. Beautiful new life results from this union. May is the month of Taurus, the Bull, the most beautiful, sensual, and fertile month on Earth. Taurus is the flowering of Springtime and Taurus’ holiday—Beltane or May Day, as we call it—is a day of love-making festivals all around the world, revealing the Bull’s link with fertility. Many Taureans are proud of their love-making skills.

Sensuality is one of Taurus’ strongest assets. He is deeply in touch with his senses and his connection to the Earth. The Bull is stable, determined, and powerful. He is slow, beautiful, and indulgent. He reminds us that we miss the beauty of the Earth if we are always racing ahead. It is said that the next sign tempers the excesses of the sign before it and we see the truth of this here. The statement “slow down and smell the roses” was no doubt first spoken by a Taurus.

Isn’t it interesting that the creators of Earth Day chose April 22, a day soon after the Sun enters Taurus. It is in this first earth sign, that we learn to love and appreciate the Earth. Our senses connect us to our Mother. As Taurus grounds the Aries spark of life, so too must we be grounded and connected to the Earth in a way that supports our bodies and spirits to flower. In Taurus we establish our values and self worth.

Ruled by Venus, Taurus is also the sign of beauty. Astrologer Stephanie Austin remarks that Venus is a fitting ruler for Taurus because of her association with both beauty and love, reminding us that beauty opens the heart. Taurus rules the land and the growth of vegetation. The Bull loves all things green, from the beautiful countryside (good farmers they are, green-thumbed) to the money that comes from its bounty (good bankers they are, counting greenbacks). The Bulls are very careful with resources.

The Bull’s shadows include gluttony, greed, laziness, and of course, his biggest shadow, stubbornness and the rage that follows if the Bull perceives he is being forced.

Astrologer Nancy Cohen says that baby Taurus is born in a family where money is an issue. The mother is worried, imprinting baby Taurus with a deep need for material security and stability. The Bull operates with a 30-second delay. Those with Mercury in Taurus can hardly get their words on paper, so cautious are they. But hating change, baby Taurus becomes a good and loyal marriage partner later in life.

The Body

Being the second sign, Taurus rules the neck and throat. Many too stubborn or unwilling to change will experience sore throats and stiff necks. Before you take out your child’s tonsils, find out what changes he is unhappy about. If you find yourself wearing a neck collar or brace, look inside to release some stubbornness. Here too is the dark realm of eating disorders, especially found in the afflicted Taurus Moon, where over-identification with form and deep insecurity meet. On the positive side, Taurus bestows the gift of physical beauty and the beautiful voice.

This Month

Many planets make headlines this month. First, Mercury continues plodding backwards in slow-moving Taurus until May 11th, so wait until after then to buy that car or electronic device. Best to put off all major purchases as well. Tempers may flair over delays since Mars makes a harsh aspect to back-traveling Mercury. Next on the skywatch stage appear large Saturn opposite even larger Jupiter. Expansion will be checked now. The world may experience one day optimistic, the next pessimistic. Plus foggy Neptune is in the mix making us very uncertain now about the big picture.

On May 27th, rowdy and rebellious Uranus bursts on to stage as he enters fiery Aries, the sign of new beginnings. This is the stuff revolutions are made of as Uranus moves into hard aspect with Pluto in Capricorn, sign of corporate government, as well. Uranus will stay in Aries for seven years. Many astrologers predict unprecedented breakthroughs in all arenas as well as an increase in violence and lawlessness. “Uranus sets loose a fanatical, blind zeal in Aries that can move mountains or create instant temper tantrums or revolutions. ” (Lance Ferguson, Skywatch)

The best days for new beginnings and purchases this month are the 17th, 18th(a. m.), 24th, and 31st. The 7th is a good day for healing old wounds and repairing damaged relationships. The 12th and 13th are the bet getting-rid-of and cleaning-out days. Remember: no surgeries the 26th, 27th, or 28th, the Full Moon days.

The New Moon on May 13th is a time to review our values and our relationship to money and resources. A powerful aspect from Mars compels us to cut all that isn’t necessary or beautiful from our lives. Simplifying will bring a new kind of wealth. A strong aspect from Neptune helps soften attachments to what is burdensome and no longer useful.

The Full Sagittarius Moon on May 27th asks us to open our hearts to the new day and to the “radical changes that must occur now. ” (Stephanie Austin, Mountain Astrologer) Uranus moves into the dynamic and dare-devil sign of Aries minutes following this full moon. The world is changing fast now so stay centered with an open heart. The symbol of the Sun at this potent lunation is this: A well with bucket and rope under the shade of majestic trees. ” Judy Collins’ reminder that “It’s time to get back to the garden” is reflected in the stars now.

Thank goodness it’s time to start over. The new zodiacal year is underway. It began on March 20, the first day of spring, the first day of Aries, the sign of the Ram. It’s time to awaken from winter’s sleep and heed the call to adventure. It’s time to get going.

Red hot and unstoppable, Aries is the fire of birth, springtime, and all new beginnings. It is the spark of spirit that sets life in motion. Those born under this exuberant sign are filled with adventure, optimism, and the fire of new life. They may trip and fall, as they often do from going too fast, but they will always get up. It is the Ram’s nature to rise again.

When spring comes, with animation and like clockwork, young green new life appears. Babies of all varieties are everywhere. A joy bubbles forth in Earth’s creatures: the joy of being alive. The Aries among us are similarly filled with joy.

Aries is the Ram, with powerful horns and a plated forehead, enabling him to push his way through obstacles. He is born to be a pathfinder, a scout, and an adventurer. He is out-going and brave. He can be hasty and reckless but he is going somewhere.. A couch potato he is not. Ruled by Mars, Aries is a sign of high energy, activity, and competition. The Ram is undaunted, making him a powerful leader.

Aries is also the Lamb, symbol of springtime joy and innocence. Jesus is correctly called the Lamb of God because his strength derives from his innocence, which “taketh away the sins of the world. ” He came to show us the way out of guilt–eternal winter. Pisces, the 12th sign, represents Lent and the crucifixion. But what power is there in a slain savior? Aries, the first sign, represents salvation.

In fact Aries is the sign of resurrection and rebirth. This is the Easter celebration. Here is our redemption. It is not in suffering and crucifixion that we are redeemed. Through forgiveness, Jesus demonstrated power over death. By following his example, we can all free ourselves by forgiving the world. Joy is the consequence of an innocent heart. Joy to the world is Aries’ highest message. The world can be overcome, after all. Our Aries brothers, who can always renew themselves, know this instinctively.

The Rams enjoy the innocence of play. They may run over others in their excitement, they may be overly rough, direct and headstrong, but there is no meanness in them. They see the world like children: things are either black or white. And being the first sign, the sign of coming out, Aries likes to be seen. Be sure and pay plenty of attention to your Aries child and friends.

The Body

And being the first sign, Aries rules the head. The Ram is prone to headaches, which are metaphysically linked to guilt. The Ram need only remember his innocence—the innocence of the Lamb—to get rid of headaches for good. Fiery Mars, ruler of Aries, is the root cause of all the –itises—diseases of inflammation. Slowing down and relaxing will fade the redness and swelling. These problems are rooted in anger so settle down, cool off, and forgive the person or situation upsetting you.. Then use Mars playfully, like a frolicking lamb, full of spontaneous exuberance, to stay young.

This Month

The desire to get going will be felt more than ever this month as Mars is picking up speed. Saturn’s return into Virgo will provide many with good strategies to navigate the rough waters we are all swimming in. Mercury will turn retrograde April 17th in the slow and often stubborn sign on Taurus, so be careful of stiff necks, the result of an unbending mind. Since Taurus is the sign ruling money, be extra careful with financial transactions during this three week cycle. The most exciting aspect this month is the 4th opposition between conservative and rigid Saturn and rebellious and revolutionary Uranus on April 26th. The first opposition was fall 2008 “crunching the economy and leading to the election of Barack Obama. ” (Jeff Jawer, Mt. Astrologer) July 26th will be the final showdown as times change.

April 5th and 6th are two of the best days this month to put plans into action. The 17th and 20th are also good days for a new beginning but exercise caution as Mercury is beginning his retrograde motion. April 11th is good for cleaning out and getting rid of. The 30th is good for a trip. Remember, no surgeries April 27th, 28th, and 29th, the days of the Full Moon.

The New Moon this month, the newest of all new moons on April 14th, will find many out on dirt bikes, shopping sprees, or at least with their heads in an adventure novel. The call to excitement is strong. Many will have trouble with patience and tolerance as dwarf planet Eris joins this lunation. She is the Goddess of Strife and she is appearing now to initiate a change in our value system from competition and greed to cooperation and sharing. This high energy New Moon requires us “to have ‘Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind,’ to observe without preconception or prejudice, to be curious rather than critical, to be open and willing to be surprised. ” (Stephanie Austin, Mt. Astrologer)

The Full Scorpio Moon on April 28th is one of the most powerful in the zodiac. People are likely to feel fear of loss now. A lot of anger will also be generated around this time as Mars is in hard aspect to both Sun and Moon. Adding to the punch is the Saturn-Uranus opposition, “a breakdown or breakthrough force, ” (S. Austin) exact just 2 days prior. Mercury joins the Sun in Taurus, so be careful of being bull-headed. Many healings are possible at this time also as the Full Scorpio is the healing moon. Remember, since Scorpio is the sign of shared energy, we can’t heal ourselves. It takes another.

Don’t forget it’s spring time. It’s time for faith and hope, but mostly it’s time for action. Remember, “Fortune favors the brave. ” (Terence) .

Aries
Thank goodness it’s time to start over. The new zodiacal year is underway. It began on March 20, the first day of spring, the first day of Aries, the sign of the Ram. It’s time to awaken from winter’s sleep and heed the call to adventure. It’s time to get going.
Red hot and unstoppable, Aries is the fire of birth, springtime, and all new beginnings. It is the spark of spirit that sets life in motion.

It’s time again to celebrate the season of top dog Capricorn, sign of more kings than any other (December 21 – January 19). It is said that many are called and few are chosen and no sign is more prominent among the chosen few than Capricorn. Capricorn is ruled by the mountain goat and climb he must, no matter how steep or treacherous the mountain. In fact, the difficulty of the journey is a spur to Capricorn’s assured success.

How appropriate that our “top” holiday, Christmas, is a Capricorn holiday. Karma lives in Capricorn and children learn this at Christmas. Santa only rewards good little boys and girls. Capricorn is a conservative and traditional energy and don’t the words Christmas and traditions go hand-in-hand? Have you noticed how rarely a new Christmas carol joins the old stand-bys? And Capricorn is materialism. Need I say more?

Of course, it is also appropriate that the birthday of the King of Kings would be placed in the high sign of Capricorn. (Scholars now believe, however, that Jesus was born around August 20th, the Leo/Virgo cusp where the lion lays down with the lamb.) Capricorn is also the most prominent sign of Indian gurus. Among earthly kings born under this sign of recognition, achievement, reputation and fame are Mohammad Ali, king of boxing, and Elvis Presley, king of rock and roll. African American leader Martin Luther King Jr. is also a mountain goat. He even has the name King. If the goat is too proud as he reaches the top, he could be knocked off his mountain peak. Capricorn golf king Tiger Woods is living this ancient archetype now.

Capricorn is the third and final earth sign where ideas received in fiery and spirited Sagittarius must be brought onto the earthly plane and put to the test of time. Capricorn is ruled by ringed Saturn, the cosmic task master and the Lord of Karma, reminding us that what we sow we reap. Saturn is the Grim Reaper, never letting us forget that we too, like all living things, will be reaped one day. Since Capricorn is the energy of time, often the little Capricorns look old, but these “old youngsters” stay younger looking than their brothers as they age.

The Mergoat is Capricorn’s mythic ruler. Most of us don’t notice that the Capricorn goat has the tail of a fish. This overlooked tail is what gives Capricorn the intuition to know which mountain to climb. Winning is so important to the young or unevolved Capricorns that they might not play if they can’t win.

The shadow side of Capricorn is a dour seriousness sometimes seen in businessmen and the like. No time for play in the Capricorn’s day. And the Mergoat can be a superior fellow, looking down on others from his mountain perch. The darkest shadow of Capricorn is ruthlessness. Some will do anything to win. It doesn’t matter who is stepped on or eliminated along the way to the top. Richard Nixon was a Capricorn with his shadow side showing.

Our local psychological astrologer, Nancy Cohen, says the little Capricorns are born to mothers who are running the show but pretending that the father is. The child is in on the secret, giving him an adult edge and a quiet superiority.

The Body

Saturn hardens and defines so the Mergoat rules the skeleton, the teeth, the knees and the skin. Knees heal more slowly than other body parts since they are ruled by the Lord of Time. People with low self esteem often have skin problems as our skin separates us from everything else.

This Month

January will be off to a slow start with both Mars and Mercury in apparent backward motion. Mercury will turn direct on January 15th, clearing our thinking, but Mars will not turn around until March 10th. Furthermore, at months end the celestial heavies, Saturn and Pluto, will square off, signaling a time of more contraction. Our hopeful giants Jupiter and Neptune are now separating, leaving dreams based on false hopes and selfishness dashed on the sharp rocks of reality. Only humanitarian efforts as well as shared ventures will flourish.

The best days this month for new beginnings and major purchases are the 4th and the 21st. The 8th, 18th and 24th are also good. The 11th is an excellent day for endings and cleanings, for giving away and selling. Tear down old structures that no longer serve on the 12th and 13th. Schedule no surgeries for the last days of the month.

Look for old, out-moded institutions to be in big trouble around the time of the Capricorn New Moon eclipse of January 14th. If you haven’t made resolutions, this is another window for that. Success is likely for breaking habits and for making new starts requiring discipline.

The moon fills on January 30th, shedding light on the Saturn-Pluto showdown the next day. You won’t need front row seats to experience the wallop of this lunation. The Sun is in the brotherhood sign of Aquarius and the Moon is in individualistic and creative Leo. Tap into your creative gift and take your place in the circle of life.

“Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh. .. ” The light-hearted fun this old song brings to mind is the buoyancy and joy of Sagittarius, the ninth, the luckiest, and the most fun sign of the zodiac. (November 21 – December 21). Most of the good stuff of life is somehow crowded into this sign of friendliness, tolerance, optimism, and gratitude.

Sagittarians know The Secret: gratitude increases abundance. So isn’t it perfect that we celebrate Thanksgiving as Sagittarius opens.

According to legend, the colonists celebrated the first Thanksgiving with Indians. Now Sagittarius is one of the double signs, its totem being the Centaur, a mythical creature half man—civilized and rational–and half horse—wild, sexual, and intuitive. Our first Thanksgiving was truly Sagittarian, a blending of civilization (the white man) with wildness and freedom (the Indians). And didn’t the Indians ride horses to the feast?

From sports events to foreign travel to finding God, the Sagittarian’s life is an interesting one, moving from surface play to deep discovery. Many living enviable lives are Sagittarians: the professional athlete, the professor, the traveler, the philosopher, the attorney. The Sagittarian professions are fiery, requiring lots of enthusiasm, energy, focus, and hopefulness. The Sagittarian virtues of generosity, fair-mindedness, and friendliness have much to do with the successful lives of these celestial adventurers.

Ruled by Jupiter, Sagittarius is a big energy which travels far and fast. The archer is goal oriented, pointing his arrow at 27 degrees Sagittarius, Galactic Center, where waves of information are pouring forth. The centaur, big in spirit and strong in faith, wants to expand into new territory. Most Sagittarians love travel, and many live some of their life in a foreign country. The race horse is the epitome of this fiery energy of speed with purpose.

Shadow Sagittarius is the preacher, certain his way is right. It is the friend who tells you what he thinks of you, even if you don’t ask. Darker shadows are the compulsive gambler who destroys his family’s resources and the religious zealot who is willing to destroy others who don’t accept his truth.

The Body

Sagittarius, being under the rulership of big Jupiter, appropriately rules the larger body parts, the hips and thighs. The femur or thigh bone is the largest bone in the body. Here is where red blood cells (metaphysical symbols of joy and happiness) are made deep within the marrow. And it is the hips and thighs that propel us forward and into the future. Thoughts of restriction and confinement often make hip pain. Seniors who see no future often fall and break a hip. “Hip, hip, hooray. There is joy in everyday, ” is healing guru Louise Hay’s affirmation for hip problems.

This Month

Harsh aspects between the celestial bad boys, Saturn and Pluto, continues to weigh us down. The final joining of Neptune and Jupiter in high-minded Aquarius will show whether our dreams are inspired or delusional. Occurring on the United States Moon, we could see “the best laid plans of mice and men. .. ” well, you know that story.

As astrologer Lance Ferguson notices: “December has a bi-polar skywatch. Saturn-Pluto is cruel, realistic, and made of concrete; Jupiter-Neptune is Tinkerbell and scotch and soda. ” All planets are in direct motion until December 20th when first Mars, then 6 days later Mercury will slam on the brakes and turn backward. This is clearly a time ot slow down and hold your horses. We’re already familiar with the snafus that occur during Mercury’s retrograde cycle: problems with cars, electronics, pets, and communication. Add to that a turning inward of our outer drive and will power, “restraining our heroic impulses. ” (Jeff Jawer, Mountain Astrologer)

The best days this month for a new beginning or a major purchase are these: Dec 1st, 2nd, 4th, 10th, and 17th.. No surgeries around the Full Moons on December 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 30th, 31st, and January 1st.

The Full Gemini Moon on December 2nd will be zanier than usual with wild card Uranus turning direct a few hours earlier. Expect more unexpected change. And expect more consequences from you willingness to change. Stephanie Austin reminds us of the “Butterfly Effect”: small shifts can have big effects. Uranus’ station says that “each of us is a butterfly. Each thought, word, and action contributes to the global weather of our times. ”

The New Sagittarius Moon on December 16th could bring answers to some big questions for us as this lunation is near Galactic Center where enormous amounts of rays and information pour forth. The Sagittarian archetype of the archer is the truth seeker. He is seeking the answers to life’s major questions like who are we and what are we doing here. We might find these answers if we meditate now.

And now is the time to get your ticket for your place on the new ark and join the “emerging global human family of light. ” (Stephanie Austin) The rare triple conjunction of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron will create an opportunity for breaking racial barriers. These planets will not join again in Aquarius for several thousand years.

A second Full Moon, a lunar eclipse on December 31st, closes out 2009. Occurring in Capricorn and Cancer, light shines on our integrity or lack thereof. Amping up the karmic implications are Mercury, Venus, and especially Pluto, joining the Sun in Capricorn, the sign of responsibility. It’s time drop the victim role and put yourself in the powerful center of your life.

Lance Ferguson suggests that this could be a difficult holiday season in general when “people are out of gas and out of character. The Full Cancer Moon will be escorted by loud mouth Mercury retrograde and clumsy Mars retrograde—a pair of jokers who could cause some problems. ” Plan something close to home for New Year’s Eve. A meditation on your role in the new year would serve. “In this next phase, we have a chance to evolve from children of God to adults of God, from victims and villains to conscious co-creators. ” (Swami Beyondananda)

Isn’t it perfect that Halloween is celebrated now, under the sign of the Scorpion (Oct 22 – Nov 22)? The veil between the worlds is at its thinnest and ghosts and skeletons and vampires are at home now, wandering the streets. This is appropriate under the eighth sign, Scorpio, the sign of death, sex, transformations and all mysteries. Contact with the other side can happen easier now for seekers.

Scorpio brings us face to face with life’s harsher and deeper realities, giving its natives a power that the more superficial signs lack. Their eagle-eyes have penetrating insight. Most astrologers consider Scorpio to be one of the two most powerful signs (the other being Leo).

Falling leaves and a browning earth are Scorpio metaphors, visual reminders from Mother Nature that nothing that comes to Earth comes to stay. Now is the process of decay evident. This is a time of increasing dark and cold, a reminder that warm summer days and sunflowers are just half of the picture here.

The sign of the Scorpion is the second water sign, plunging us into the passionate depths of feeling arising from our personal relationships. This is the intense area of intimacy and sex where joining happens, or not. We can find ourselves in the arena of deep emotional pain, where regeneration or bitterness is the outcome. We must release old habits and attitudes that no longer work for us, and this happens either voluntarily or by force in this powerful eighth sign of death and regeneration.

The saying “still waters run deep” describes our Scorpio brothers. These are not the people who skate along the surface of life. These are not the superficial glad-handers. These are the researchers. These are the secret-holders and the secret discoverers. And because of the emotional depth of this sign, the wounded Scorpion finds it hard to forgive. The unevolved Scorpions will sting themselves to death rather than give in or let go, such is their holding power.

As Taurus (my money) follows Aries (me) and supports me, so Scorpio (our money, our sexual relationship) follows Libra (us) and supports our union. All shared money—insurance funds, taxes—as well as inheritances are under Scorpio rulership. All shared emotional responses—cheers in a stadium filled with sports fans, mourning in a funeral procession—are Scorpionic. Morticians, grave diggers, surgeons, healers, taxmen, garbage men, recyclers, deep-sea divers, sex-therapists, and prostitutes and pimps are all working under the sign of the Scorpion.

Since the Scorpion is so easily wounded and is armed with a powerful stinging tail, he is known for his cruelty. Ruthlessness, sadism, and torture, all the darkest of human behaviors, live in Scorpio. Here is the region beyond safe and civilized boundaries. Here is the area of the forbidden and taboo.

Here is also the area of healing and regeneration, the higher aspect of the Scorpio nature. When the Scorpion becomes a healer, he transforms into an Eagle. When he burns away his last vestiges of selfishness, he turns into the Phoenix and rises on wings from his own ashes. Since healing lives in this sign of shared resources and feeling, we can know that a person cannot heal himself. It takes the energy of another to join with you in transforming sickness into health.

A famous ruthless Scorpio: killer Charles Manson. A famous transforming Scorpio: Billy Graham (notice his eagle nose), transforming souls. Another famous transforming Scorpio: Billy Jean King who raised women to a new dignity and power in the world of sports. A famous ruthless (perhaps) and transforming Scorpio: Dr. Kevorkian, also known as Dr. Death.

It is appropriate that elections are held in early November because, being all about power, they are Scorpio struggles: “conflicts of interest, deep divisions, the supremacy of winning and the ignominy of losing.” (Astrologer Ricki Corcilius.)

Being the sign of regeneration, Scorpio rules the reproductive organs in the body. Any dysfunction in our sexual organs, glands, or body parts is a clue that we aren’t embracing our sexuality with love.

This month the skywatch features a powerful clash: Pluto and Saturn, our two planetary heavies are squaring off. We will feel the tension building the first two weeks. The “accident” happens on November 15th. Just the day before Neptune delivers an extra dose of fog and we could be lulled into a false illusion, feeling that things are better than they really are. These false hopes will quickly fade as Pluto and Saturn bring us into the Reality Ring. Saturn rules big business and corporations and Pluto, now new in Saturn’s sign, will eat away at the foundations of these temples of greed. They will hang out together, but not peacefully, all through December and into January when they will again square off. People born near the changes of the seasons and those with their Moons or Ascendants here will be especially challenged under these powerful planetary clashes.

.

Favorable days this month for new beginnings and major purchases are these: November 4th, 7th (until 2:30), 17th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, and 28th (until 3:30). No surgeries on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd, the days of the Full Moon, since the blood flows more easily now. Reach out and connect on the 4th. The best days to get rid of excesses in your life are the 15th and 16th. Hard work pays off the 20th and 21st. The very best new beginning day is the 28th until 3:30 p.m.

The Full Moon the month is on November 2nd, the actual Day of the Dead, also known as All Soul’s Day. This day, the veil is as thin as possible between the worlds. With the light of this powerful Full Moon as a guide, reaching across the barriers of time and death could pay off now. A loved one could be available on the other side.

Back down here on Earth, however, we could have a rough time. Mars and Jupiter are squaring both lights. Fighting is probable. Astrologer Jeff Jawer suggests that the tensions are between “Taurus’ taste for comfort and Scorpio’s hunger for intensity.” Look for the Scorpio Sun to win here with Mars in the equation. And with Jupiter challenging Mars, situations could expand and heat up quickly. Fanaticism is a poisonous by-product of this configuration. Increased faith and willingness to take up the Aquarian virtues and live them is a consequence of this lunation on a higher vibration.

The Sabian symbol for the Sun at 11 degrees Scorpio emphasizes this higher behavior: “A drowning man is being rescued; the deep concern of the social group (Aquarius) for the safety of individuals.”

The New Scorpio Moon on November 16th signals that “we have crossed the point of no return. Like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, we are undergoing a profound metamorphosis. Scorpio represents the principle of transformation—to transit from one form to the next. Often the new form bears little resemblance to the old. What eventually crystallizes, individually and globally, will be radically different from anything we’ve seen or been before.” (astrologer Stephanie, writing in Mountain Astrologer)

This powerful lunation at 25 degrees Scorpio is challenged by the Aquarian grouping of Jupiter, Neptune, and Chiron, reminding us that we had better get it that we are all in this together and we all have a wound that needs healing. No one is special here. These are the powerful Aquarian messages that Earth has been receiving for 40 years. Now, we may be forced to listen, as times change.

At the Fall Equinox on September 23, night and day are equal. Briefly, there is balance, (you can stand an egg on its head today) then the scales tip once again. Days begin to shorten and the time for plants to grow is over. Our work is done for now. Symbolically, the time for working on me and my stuff is also over. Now that I’ve refined myself in Virgo, it’s time to recognize and acknowledge the others around me and enter the world of relationship. Now is Libra (September 23 – October 22), the sign of partnership. Libra and the five signs following focus on relationship with partners, teachers, bosses, friends, and finally, in Pisces, with the oneness of divine consciousness.

But first Libra, the sign of the Scales, the only sign not under animal or human rulership. Libra is the second air sign, giving a focus on communication, the basis of relationship. Ideas are the realm of all air signs, and in Libra thoughts of balance and fairness prevail. The Libra mind is the most rational in the zodiac. No wonder it is the sign of the mediator and the judge. And because of this powerful balancing factor, Librans find it difficult to make small everyday decisions.

Only three signs—the air signs—are not animals. The air signs focus on thought and the interrelatedness of all things. Here we learn that only minds can join and the concept of “my thought” is quite impossible.

Libra is represented by he scales, not even a human image. If a person is depicted holding the scales, he is blindfolded, symbolizing the impartiality needed for justice. There is an emotional detachment in the Libran that allows the native to see both sides. You can count on the Libran in your life for a balanced and fair appraisal. Libra is also the obvious mediator in any conflict. Astrologer Nancy Cohen says the little Libra is born to save his parents’ marriage, born to forever go between.

The essential lesson for Libra is this: how can I be me and still honor you. The undeveloped Libran most often bends to the wishes of others, unable to maintain integrity. If this compromise is done with resentment—and believe me it often is—unresolved anger builds in the Libra. Yes, that peace-loving, peace-keeping Libra in your life could be raging underneath that sweet smile.

Libra virtues include fairness, beauty, sociability, kindness, and willingness to compromise. Libran shadows are indecisiveness, unwillingness to be honest if it might hurt someone, procrastination, and saying what people want to hear. Without other deepening energies, the Libran can be shallow.

Decorators, public relations people, organizers of social functions, party givers, and hostesses: all Libran. Society’s most powerful Libran expressions are the diplomat, the judge, and the general.

Libra is ruled by Venus, goddess of beauty. May and October—both under Venusian vibrations—are Earth’s most beautiful months. The beauty in May is most evident in the blooming flowers. The beauty in October is in autumn color and the sunset sky. Sunset is the Libra time of day. The glyph for Libra is the setting sun. Marriages (Libra contracts) right before sunset have the best chance for success. This is an honoring of the balancing of opposites, another Libran concept.

Libra is beauty in proportion: that hourglass figure is Libra. Libra is beauty in movement: the dance is Libra. Libra is beauty in contrast: chiaroscuro is Libra. So is the hillside lit up with autumn color. The art gallery is Libra and so is the spa.

Libra is the sign of conflict as well a peace. It is the sign of the enemy as well as the partner. Sometimes the partner turns into the enemy after the falling-in-love blindness fades. Clearer vision often shows us our own shadows projected onto the other. Karl Jung suggested that being conscious of our shadows will improve our relationships. What he didn’t tell us is that it takes a lifetime.

The Body

In the body, Libra rules the kidneys, organs on either side, at the center of our bodies, and the bladder. Be careful of being “pissed off” at your partner or you could get an infection here. The ears, balanced organs by the middle of the face, and the inner ear, ruling balance, are under Libra rulership. Relationship problems show up as kidney problems or loss of equilibrium, an inner ear issue. Mars rules the sight and Venus rules the hearing and it is said–and I believe it–that men are visual creatures and women love sweet talk.

This Month

Celestial green lights are on this month after a rough September. This is the time to make preparations for winter. This winter could be a rough one with powerful planets making clashing aspects.

The Libra Sun shines light into our relationships and the conflicting drives within us. Issues of cooperation and independence are up. Be careful not to withdraw, a temptation since Mars is in Cancer. After the 9th, communication should open up as Mercury enters Libra. And good luck planet Jupiter turns forward on the 12th when “Hope will more easily translate into action, ” suggests astrologer Jeff Jawer.

Energies shift into a heavier and deeper gear as the Sun enters Scorpio October 22nd and Saturn exits Virgo October 29th. A new era begins as Saturn enters Libra, his favorite sign. As astrologer Lance Ferguson points out: Saturn here teaches us we can do more working with others and that good relationships last when each partner takes personal responsibility. Issues of fairness will abound during the next two and a half years, the length of Saturn’s stay in Libra. Will making decisions (a Libra thing) be easier because of the stability of mind Saturn in Libra brings or harder because Saturn makes harder everything he touches? We’ll have to wait and see. Some of the big fashion and make-up giants (Libra) may be taken down.

We find many favorable days this month for new starts and purchases, including October 4, 5, 8, 11, 20, 21, 24, 26, 27, 28, 31. Clean out and get rid of on October 15, 16, and 17. No surgeries the days around the Full Moon on October 3rd.

At the Full Moon on October 3rd questions around me and you are at heir peak. Am I being too assertive or am I giving in too much? It’s hard to keep relationships in balance now as the Full Moon increases our emotions along with the tides.

Venus, ruler of Libra, will aspect all outer planets on after the peak of this Full Moon, illuminating the way to peace through the open heart. As astrologer Stephanie Austin says: “Venus is signaling our readiness to receive important insights and directives. Pay special attention to what your heart is telling you on October 4, 9, 13, and 15, ” the days when Venus kisses.

The New Libra Moon aligns sweetly with Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune, creating a magical quality, “seeding hopes for peace and harmony. ” (Jeff Jawer) More difficult aspects now invite us to purge our overly-dependent or co-dependent relationships and reclaim our power. Stephanie Austin suggests October 22nd is the day for insights into what you need to move forward on your path. The Sabian symbol for this lunation reminds us that answers can come in unexpected moments: The sight of an autumn leaf brings to a pilgrim the sudden revelation of the mystery of life and death. ”

Let’s face it. Nothing is good enough for Virgo. Fussy, fussy. Picky, picky. No one knows like a Virgo how hard it is to carve out a little piece of perfection in this world where everyone does things wrong. No wonder that Virgos fret and worry. And if Virgo is in conflict with other energies, amp up the fretting to obsessing. Amp up the worry to anxiety. Thank goodness Virgos (August 22 – September -22) have wings.

As Virgo matures, her wings lift her. She realizes that her job is to bring a piece of Heaven onto Earth and how hard—nearly impossible, she finds, –it is. She learns to compartmentalize and analyze and she learns to discriminate instead of criticize. She infuses her good judgment with compassion which she learns from her opposite sign, Pisces.

The purposes of the Virgo life are many. For one thing, the Virgin Goddess is in charge of the harvest where her gifts of efficiency and discrimination are of high priority. Crops must be picked at the right time, the wheat separated from the chaff. The work is so hard and long it is no wonder Virgo has gotten a bad reputation in modern times where pleasure and instant gratification are the goals. But someone has to do the hard work. It takes someone with wings.

Virgo is in charge of the health and hygiene of the physical body. Virgo rules the cells, the individual components of the body. All health caregivers are under the guidance of the pure and holy virgin goddess. Have you noticed the little wings on nurses?

Virgo is in charge of clean-up. Following that loud and wildly extravagant and creative Leo, someone has to rein matters in. The novel has to be edited. The chef must refine the seasonings. The garden must be weeded. The party mess has to be cleaned up. Who could be happy with this job but an angel?

And Virgo has a secret: work is really a gift. Work brings us into the present where time meets eternity. Work requires focus, pinning the punishing mind to something outside itself. Inner peace is the result. It was probably a Virgo who first said that the idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Without the focus of work, man suffers.

And Virgo has another secret: you can work or be sick. Hypochondria is a disease of the lazy or of those who fancy themselves too good or too special to work.

Mercury is the ruling planet of Virgo, but now the mental realm of the planet of communication is brought through the hands and fingers into the practical realm. Ideas are Gemini. Writing down ideas is Virgo. Early images of the Harvest Goddess show her with a quill in her hand.

The fingertips are ruled by Virgo. This is where we connect to the earth through sensory touch. The fingertips are filled with nerves and unusual sensitivity. Virgos are also very sensitive. Their judgment can be trusted.

Because it is Virgo’s job to sort and assimilate, the virgin goddess also rules digestion, especially the small intestine where nutrients are sorted from waste.

Virgo is the second earth sign, assuring us that despite the spinster stereotype, the Virgin is sexy. Sophia Loren, for example, is a Virgo. The word virgin originally referred to a woman who was whole unto herself. The Vestal Virgins initiated young men into the world of sexuality. The virgin doesn’t need a man for her identity, though she may and likely does enjoy his offerings of pleasure.

Please don’t criticize the Virgos in your life. It is so, so painful for them. They were born to mothers who nagged and criticized their fathers, according to astrologer Nancy Cohen. Being willing to overlook goes a long way here.

September could be a confusing, roller-coaster of a month so don’t expect a lot of forward motion. Put off until October anything you can. For starters Mercury, our planet of communication, is once again turning backward from September 6th to 29th. Mercury begins his retrograde in Libra, asking you to review your relationships. Clear up old unresolved issues before the Sun moves into Libra the 22nd. Since Mercury retrogrades into Virgo, a summer sign, astrologer Lane Ferguson predicts warm weather and hurricanes fueled by warm weather. Be extra careful with details and contacts. Best to wait to buy that new car or electronic equipment.

The biggest skywatch event this month occurs September 15th when Saturn, the planet of conservatism, opposes Uranus, the planet of rebellion. We elected Barack Obama November 4th the day of the first opposition between these celestial giants. This third of five hits should mark a time of revolutionary breakthrough or a return to more conservative values. Could his be manifesting in the health care arena since the Sun is in Virgo, the sign of health?

Old issues must be faced and resolved by September 23rd when the Sun squares Pluto. “We’ll see what gets shaken out and hat will mke it to the next phase, ” astrologer Jeff Jawer says.

If you must begin something or make a major purchase, best to do it the morning of September 2nd or the 3rd after 10:00am. No surgeries the 3rd, 4th, or 5th, the days of the Full Moon. The 17th is the best getting-rid-of day, an excellent day for a teeth-cleaning, a fat, or spending time in your closets. The 15th and the 23rd are particularly rough star days, so be extra kind and patient.

The Full Moon, September 4th, is in Pisces, the sign of the dreamer and the mystic. The Sun, of course, is in detail-oriented and very rational Virgo. Questions appearing now will be around issues of perfectionism (Virgo) and sloppiness (Pisces), the big picture (Pisces) or the little one (Virgo). Is my focus too broad (Pisces) or too narrow (Virgo)? Am I too critical (Virgo) or am I overlooking too much (Pisces)? Our thinking will be further challenged as Mercury, Mars, and Pluto are connecting with harsh aspects. People could be really, really mad. Don’t take personally the anger of others.

The New Virgo Moon on September 18th is a call to simplify, focus, and learn to live with less. Saturn, the planet of limitation, sits close to this lunation, demanding we eliminate what is not essential. Uranus, opposing now, will help with this elimination. Mercury and Pluto connect now also, requiring honesty and resourcefulness.

Astrologer Stephanie Austin reminds us that “ this New Moon focuses the powerful opposition between Saturn, the mythic Reaper and Uranus, the God of Chaos, energizing the contrast between entitlement and equality, entrenchment and progress, hierarchy and grass roots initiative.

The Sabian symbol for this lunation—an altar boy—highlights our need to participate and serve. The message from the planets says move forward simply: less is more.

Cancer

On the year’s longest day we enter the emotional waters of Cancer the Crab, the sign of the mother, the motherland, and our Mother Earth. In the beginning was the Word, but also the Mother, the cosmic womb from which all life springs.

Cancers are the protective nurturers of new life and the family. Their sign, the first water sign, is at the bottom of the zodiac wheel, linking them with ancestors and family roots. This powerful angular sign addresses the importance of home, family, and comfortable surroundings.

The Moon is Cancer’s ruling planet. Forever waxing and waning, the changeable Moon is the appropriate ruler of this emotional, moody, and very feminine sign. Cancer natives are soft on the inside though you may not notice because, like their totem Crab, their exteriors are hard. Those born with Cancer rising often look like crabs with moon faces, long limbs and large hands and feet.

Moon children have strong intuition, almost a sixth sense. Many psychics are strong in Cancer as water is the most receptive of the elements. A highly protective sign, Cancer is loyal to its own. A sign deeply linked to the past, Cancer likes history and antiques. A caring, nurturing energy, Cancer like to cook and feed others. Cancer rules the beginning and end of life as well as the vulnerable, so it is the natural realm of babies and old people.

America, born on the 4th of July, is a Cancer herself. Like other Crabs, she is mothering, territorial, and emotionally immature. We Americans love our homes, our flag, and our apple pie, all ruled by Cancer. The high level of patriotism found in America could be expected since Cancer rules patriotism and the mother land.

In America’s chart, big Jupiter and sweet Venus sit close to our Sun, bestowing great good fortune. However, the shadow side of this celestial cluster is obesity, over-mothering, and the super-sizing of everything. Pluto now opposes our Venus and Jupiter demanding a restructuring of our values.

In the body, Cancer rules the vulnerable and nurturing parts: the stomach and the breasts. Cancers are prone to digestive problems. Their oversensitivity makes them unable to “stomach” situations that don’t bother their tougher brothers. The Crab can become bloated if he doesn’t feel his feelings. Women who over-mother or those resentful of the burden of mothering or of their inability to have children could have breast problems.

Stay sharp and alert the first six days of July as Mars squares Jupiter and Neptune on the 6th influencing the 4th of July week-end. As astrologer Lance Ferguson reminds us, Mars is impatient and fool-hardy and he rules fireworks, guns, and anger. Since Neptune rules water and also drugs and alcohol, be sure to watch the kids at the pool or lake parties. Accidents could happen under these aspects if you’re not alert. The skywatch improves after the 7th .

Good days this month for purchases and beginnings are the 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th, 26th, and 27th. The 20th is especially good for housecleaning. Be careful of errors and confusion in your financial transactions in late July as Venus squares Saturn and Uranus.

The Full Capricorn Moon on July 7th is a lunar eclipse, a time to end situations and relationships that no longer serve. Beware of shame and blame (Capricorn shadows) and moodiness and over-indulgence (Cancer shadows).

The New Moon on July 21st is a total solar eclipse. Plant seeds and initiate plans now. This is also the second Cancer New Moon this year, emphasizing the importance of the feminine. Focus on creative nurturing and the protection of life.

Leo

In late July, the fiery Lion begins his rule, warming and brightening our hemisphere. The Sun is his lord and Leo shines accordingly, lighting up the zodiac. The Lion’s days are July 23 – August 22. When you compare the power of the Sun to anything else in our Solar System, you see why Leo is considered by most astrologers to be the most powerful sign.

Leo is the second fire sign. The spark of life ignited in Aries has grown to its full loving force in this majestic sign. Since Leo is ruled by the Sun, it is the most creative of all the signs. Love and fun radiate from the Lion who loves to entertain. The child is strong in Leo, the life of the party who brightens the space with his sunshine self.

Love pours forth from the heart of the Lion, making Leo the most loving of the signs. But when Leo’s love is not received or appreciated, the Lion pouts and wilts. And many of us get tired of our Leo friends telling us how great they are. The Leo style is big and loud too, sometimes offending the more gentle and conservative amongst us.

Because of the commanding power of this sign, many leaders, good (Bill Clinton) and bad (Mussolini and Milosevic), are Leos. Because of the Lion’s need for attention and because they glow in the limelight, Leos are often actors, entertainers, and superstars (Mick Jagger, Madonna, Magic Johnson). And because Regulus, the royal star, is in the heart of the Lion, Leos often possess a regal quality, making them the true kings of the human jungle. The bigger-than-life people (Jackie Onassis, Arnold Schwarzenegger) are born here. Our president, Barack Obama—couldn’t you guess—is a Leo, born August 4, 1961.

It’s probably no surprise that Leo rules the heart, center of love and the spinal column, center of courage. Leo reminds us that giving and receiving love are the mainstays of a healthy heart and the healers of a broken heart. The Lion gives us the courage to stand up for our convictions, keeping our backs strong.

This August is a month full of conflict as Mars squares Mercury, Saturn, and Uranus and opposes Pluto at month’s end. Astrologer Lance Ferguson warns that small problems could turn serious fast. Attend to details this month, especially around health issues, cars, and pets before Mercury turns retrograde early in September. The best days for purchases and new beginnings are the 3rd, 6th, 7th, 11th (a. m.), 12th, and 23rd. Use extreme caution the 10th, 18th, 25th, and 26th, some of this year’s most difficult days so far.

The Full Moon this month on August 5th is in Aquarius, the sign of brotherhood. The Moon joins Jupiter and Neptune here, amping up our awareness that we are all one. Creative insights occur. However Mars is approaching a hard aspect to Saturn, so watch for accidents. And be careful of caustic criticism and harsh words coming your way, or worse, coming from you towards others.

The New Leo Moon of August 20th is at the last degree of Leo, the Sabian symbol of the unsealed envelope. This lunation opposes the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction and issues a mandate to share the messages we have received. Mars squaring Mercury and Uranus is part of the picture, so channel your innovative and exciting thinking into positive creativity or violent arguments or worse could be your experience. Holding onto out-dated thinking is not a good thing. Heed Leo’s message to open your heart.

“June is busting out all over, ” and good because the month of the light-hearted Twins is backed by a positive skywatch this year. After a month or more of fogginess and delays, there are green lights in the heavens.

Gemini (May 20 – June 20) is a youthful and curious energy, the first human sign, the first sign of mind. Gemini is the sign of early childhood, where we learn about the world around us. The Twins teach us that we live in a dual world where there are two sides to everything.. Geminis are interesting, smart, and generally light-hearted as they skate along the surface of life.

Astrologer Deborah Houlding suggests “Gemini swings rapidly through the realms of conscious and unconscious and just as rapidly swings back again. ” Yes, The Twins are moodier than one might think. And while Mercury rules communication, he is also the god of liars and thieves. Dr. Jekyll has that other side: Mr. Hyde. And that little girl in the nursery rhyme with the curl in the middle of her forehead must have been a Gemini. Remember: “When she was good, she was very, very good, and when she was bad she was horrid. ”

With Mercury going forward now and big Jupiter stationing on June 15th, good fortune increases. It’s time to make that new start you’ve been waiting for. Expect a jolt mid-month that could portend a leap forward or you could suddenly find yourself going in a different direction. Venus and Mars are still traveling together and are now in earthy and practical Taurus. They make an exact joining on June 21st and then a good aspect to trustworthy Saturn. These are good signs for a long-lasting and passionate marriage.

June 2nd is a favorable day for purchases and beautification. The afternoon of June 7th and all day June 8th are positive for fresh starts. The 9th and 10th are good days for getting things done, but communication could be foggy—you might not know whose words to trust—so stay home and get those tough jobs done you’ve been putting off. The 23rd and 24th (after 10:00 am) are favorable new beginning days. So is the 26th (after 11:00 am) and the 30th (before 3:00 pm). No surgeries the 6th, 7th, or 8th .

Astrologer Jeff Jawer says that the Sagittarius Full Moon on June 7th “rings the bell of the ongoing Saturn-Uranus opposition, heating up the conflict between the old and new. .. between the forces of order and reform. ” And how interesting that the peak of the Full Moon coincides with the Tibetan celebration of the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha. With Mercury making a difficult aspect to the powerful and hopeful conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune, astrologer Stephanie Austin suggests that “a little shift in how we think leads to a big change in our reality. ”

The New Cancer Moon on June 22nd is a Supermoon, assuring high tides and high emotions. The new moon is always a time of darkness and this new moon is opposed by Pluto, god of the underworld, increasing darkness. This is a time for meditation. The world is changing. We are all changing. Look inside and see what is true for you now.
