Full Circle – A Gift that Keeps on Changing
October 1, 2009
Hello fellow gardeners,
It has already been one full year describing the seasons and giving you suggestions on how to improve your gardens. When it comes around “Full Circle” it’s always a surprise to realize how quickly we pass through one year and its four seasons. Have you noticed how the garden can envelop (or swallow) you, and the time we spend gardening changes how we perceive life, time, and space?
Libra
October 1, 2009
At the Fall Equinox on September 23, night and day are equal. Briefly, there is balance, (you can stand an egg on its head today) then the scales tip once again. Days begin to shorten and the time for plants to grow is over. Our work is done for now. Symbolically, the time for working on me and my stuff is also over. Now that I’ve refined myself in Virgo, it’s time to recognize and acknowledge the others around me and enter the world of relationship. Now is Libra (September 23 – October 22), the sign of partnership. Libra and the five signs following focus on relationship with partners, teachers, bosses, friends, and finally, in Pisces, with the oneness of divine consciousness.

Never-ending Artists in Arivaca

Dolly DeVilleneuve was always fascinated by the splendor of the desert skies at sunset, rising from the multi-layered, many-hued mountain ranges, and the light-dark contrast of Mesquite trunks. She often visited her family in Arivaca and sketched, using colored pencils, returning to her home in San Diego to paint her canvases. Oil paints were her medium, and she mixed her own colors. “I love colors, ” she liked to tell people. “I’m really an illustrator; I like to stylize, and paint in my own way. ”
