Dull shades of brown with a haze of dust and white sky are the colors of a southern Arizona June day. Do I need to mention how hot it is this time around? They tell me the Tucson temperature is 103 degrees while my thermometer near Arivaca reaches 108 degrees most days as June nears a close. How strange… The nights are warm, too.
An afternoon drive along East River Road north of Nogales this week, without the benefit of vehicle air conditioning, brought up waves of grief for the dead cottonwoods and other riparian vegetation on that dead looking river. I found myself wondering during these June days of extreme hot and dry conditions what it must have been like to experience the Arizona droughts of the early 1900’s without evaporative coolers & fans, ice, electric water pumps, or easy transportation to cooler climates. At the least, it would have been hard to take much for granted. My path home took me past the newest housing development south of Tubac. The improbabley cheerful color scheme seemed ludicrous to me as I sped past.
The other morning I was surprised by the presence of a very small skunk outside my door. I don’t know how he stumbled that far. He was barely moving and I approached him with caution. Most of us think of ‘rabid skunk’ first and ‘cute skunk’ secondly. I picked him up and brought him inside for inspection while Robert went to check for littermates – all he found was four little white tails. It’s probably a bit contradictory for a person who is willing to shoot a skunk for killing chickens to then nurse an orphaned baby skunk, but so much in life is contrast. Turned out that he liked goat milk diluted with some water and he ate, well, like a starved animal. He had no teeth yet so required regular feeding and attention. A terrarium for a gecko in days gone by became the little skunk’s home. In the five days that he lived with us he gained weight, vocabulary, and the name Oscar Grub. He had a lovely white Don King hairstyle completed by a broad white stripe down the back and bushy white tail. He learned my voice and would talk to me with a complex repertoire of chirps and grunts as soon as I came into the room. After his feeding, I put him on the floor and he followed me around the house while I did chores. His appeared to be nearsighted but determined. He might have become part of the family if I’d had the time to care for an infant. As it turned out, he got a place at a wildlife rehab house in Tucson with several other skunks and a lot of other injured and orphaned wildlife. They assured me that very often the animals find natural living situations when they are healthy and full-grown.
Out in the garden, optimists will find that the summer rainy season of July through September can be the best vegetable growing time of the year. Plant corn with beans, melons, squash, pumpkins or sunflowers. Tomatoes like basil, parsley, chives, marigolds, and carrots. Cucumbers do well on trellising with nasturtiums and radishes nearby. Chiles and okra also thrive in the heat. Most plants do well with some afternoon shade during the summer. Use shade cloth for lettuces and other greens. When verdeloga or purslane shows up among your vegetables, eat it. It’s loaded with minerals and vitamins and is a delicious summer delicacy with a slightly tart taste. If the rains are generous, then weeding will be added to your chore list. Put in succession plantings of beans, summer squash, and greens every 2 weeks until September.
Then take a nap. Napping in the afternoon is a forgotten art in our fast world. A nap allows you to get a second wind after rising early in the day to beat the heat and staying up late to enjoy our fabulous night sky. Dream dreams of harmony and peace for a recovering planet and joyful people.
All Blessings.
Fire the Grid!
Precious Hearts, since the dawn of this year we have been discussing the fact that our Father-Mother God and the Company of Heaven issued the fiat that 2007 will be a year of monumental change. As incredible activities of Light unfold day by day, we can see the tangible manifestation of this Divine Plan. These activities of Light are preparing Humanity and the Earth for our Ascension into the 5th Dimensional Realms of Infinite Perfection.
Now, on July 17, 2007, we are being presented with a Cosmic Opportunity that is unprecedented in our lifetime. Because of the myriad activities of Light that have taken place over the past several decades, Humanity is finally in a position to fire the grid that will unite the Divinity within every man, woman and child on this sweet Earth. This grid will also reconnect Humanity directly with our Source, All That Is.
This grid has been a fragmented shadow of its original potential for aeons of time. This situation has prevented Humanity from being able to clearly perceive the Oneness of Humanity or to hear the still small voice within. Consequently, our communication with the Realms of Illumined Truth and our Father-Mother God have been very, very limited.
Why July 17, 2007? Well, the Beings of Light have an expression, “Cosmic Moments come and Cosmic Moments go.” They say that if Humanity misses these Cosmic Moments, it may be thousands of years before the opportunity will be presented again.
July 17, 2007, is a Cosmic Moment. On this sacred and holy day, there will be a surge of Creation Energy from the very Heart of our Omniscient, Omnipotent, Omnipresent Father-Mother God that will blaze through the whole of Creation. This All-Powerful Light will raise the energy, vibration and consciousness of every facet of Life that was ever breathed forth from the Heart of God.
Through the unified intention of the collective consciousness of Lightworkers around the world, this awesome Creation Energy will also fire the grid and rewire the short circuits and fragments that have caused our self-inflicted separation from God, as well as from each other.
This facet of the Divine Plan is being revealed to Humanity by Shelley Yates, her website is www.firethegrid. org . Please read her story with an open heart and mind. We have all been preparing for this Cosmic Moment for millennia. At long last, our time is at hand.
This amazing story by Shelley Yates tells about a miracle that happened to her and her small son. (FiretheGrid.org) The miracle revealed an opportunity for Humanity that will create an unstoppable shift for Planet Earth and all her Life. Read this information carefully, take it into your heart of hearts, and share it far and wide. Know that YOU are the Hands of God now made manifest in the physical world of form.
And so it is, Beloved I AM.
